food (or drinks) not working

when i tried to heal a little bit by drinking water and ale i got this message:

You have just drank Ale. Your hitpoints were restored by 0, so you now have 256 hitpoints

it was the same with water, i healed 0 hitpoints. it was not at the refresh time and i tried it twice with water, once with the ale. it did not credit me with the hitpoints either.

yes it does. but i did just check for other quantities. it will heal me if i drink 2 or more but not if i only have one. it doesnt take it from my inventory if it doesnt heal though
